My Quilting Workspace and Sewing Room Setup

Yesterday we finally decided it was time to reorganize my sewing workspace a little better.

For the past eight months I had been working from our basement sewing corner, but honestly… it turned out to be a complete failure.

Apparently the space was simply too small for fabric, quilting supplies, sewing machines, cutting tools, and all the little creative chaos that naturally comes with quilting.

So now I’m moving everything into our playroom and trying to create a brighter, more comfortable creative space.

Even though it is still a work in progress, I already feel much happier sewing here. Natural light, open space, and being surrounded by fabrics and projects instantly make the room feel inspiring and welcoming.

One of the things I’ve learned over time is how important a functional workspace really is for creativity. Even a small sewing area can feel wonderful when it is organized in a way that makes you want to sit down and create.

Of course, like every quilting room, there are already fabric piles, unfinished projects, rulers, threads, and books everywhere—but somehow that always feels part of the process.

For now, this is my sewing room and creative corner.
