WIP: Coming to its end
Long time no see!
I’m really sorry for disappearing from the blog for such a long time, but the past month has been full of unexpected problems and responsibilities that kept me away from both blogging and quilting.
Thankfully, things are finally starting to calm down a little, and I can slowly return to my sewing corner.
The good news is that I can finally see the finish line for my Dresden Plate quilt, which has been occupying my sewing table—and honestly my thoughts—for almost five months now.
This quilt has definitely become one of the biggest and most time-consuming projects I’ve worked on so far, but I still absolutely adore it.
Over the past few days I finally managed to:
- Cut all the remaining sashing pieces
- Receive the backing fabric and batting I had been waiting for
- Prepare almost all the applique sections
And now only 4 blocks out of 24 are left to applique before the quilt top is officially complete.
Honestly, finishing the quilt top alone already feels like a huge achievement.
The fabrics are coming together exactly the way I imagined when I first started planning this quilt months ago, and seeing all the blocks finally arranged together is incredibly motivating.
Of course, the journey is far from over.
I’m planning to hand quilt the entire project, which means there is still a very long way to go before this quilt is truly finished.
Still, after months of slow progress, it finally feels like the quilt is becoming real.
I hope I’ll soon be back to blogging and quilting more regularly again.
Have a beautiful and creative week!
