Jelly turnover quilt

Last week I finally finished one of the quilt tops we were assigned to make at our local quilt group for charity purposes.

Altogether we made four different tops using the same beautiful pattern from Moda Bake Shop: The Jelly Turnover Quilt.

This is my version of the quilt!

The pattern itself was really easy and fun to piece together. The only thing we changed during the cutting process was the size of the squares for the half-square triangles.

Instead of cutting 5-inch squares and trimming the finished HSTs afterward, we cut the squares at 4 7/8 inches from the start, which meant the final blocks required almost no correction.

Honestly, it made the whole process so much easier — although precision while piecing becomes much more important that way.

Hopefully this week the quilt will also get quilted and bound, so I can share the finished version next week!
