Flowerpath quilt, the Indigo one

This is the very first version of the Flowerpath quilt. As always, I designed it in Illustrator first, and once the design was complete, choosing the color palette came naturally. It truly was love at first sight.

Meet the Flowerpath Quilt

The pattern is straightforward and enjoyable to sew, with no surprises along the way. The quilt is made using two simple units that come together to form the final block.

The river Aoos at the center of the Pindus mountain range

When I finished the Flowerpath quilt top, it coincided with a wonderful field trip we took to the Pindus mountain range, in the beautiful village of Vovousa. A magical place built right next to the Aoos river. I honestly could not have asked for a more beautiful backdrop for these photos.

Quilt Process

The Flowerpath quilt looks stunning both in solids and in prints, and one of my favorite things about this version is that I used almost exactly one fat quarter per color throughout the entire quilt.

Machine Quilting

Crosshatch quilting remains one of my all-time favorites. Since quilting itself is not my strongest skill, I’ve slowly learned to simplify the process and let go of perfectionism. I truly enjoy patchwork far more than quilting, so making quilting approachable and fun has become very important for me.
