Wednesday WIP
This was actually my very first experience with hand quilting, so naturally there were plenty of mistakes, frustrations, and lessons along the way.
At first, I tried quilting with a hoop, but honestly I struggled with it quite a lot. Managing the tension and moving the quilt comfortably felt very awkward for me, and after several attempts I finally decided to continue quilting without the hoop altogether.
Surprisingly, once I stopped fighting with the hoop, the entire process became much more enjoyable and natural.
The stitches may not be perfect, but I think the handmade feeling adds character and warmth to the quilt.
One of the things I love most about quilting is that every new technique teaches patience. Hand quilting especially slows everything down and makes you appreciate every stitch and every finished section.
Even though it took many late nights and a lot of trial and error, I’m really happy to finally see this mini quilt completed.
I hope I did it justice… what do you think?
