Pure Elements modern quilt work in progress
It’s been quite a while since my last blog update, but honestly, the silence was worth it.
Lately I’ve started so many quilting and sewing projects that I barely had enough time to actually sit down and write about them.
Sometimes creativity moves faster than blogging.
One of the projects currently taking over my sewing table is the Pure Elements quilt project , which is now very close to being finished.
At this point I’m only waiting for the backing fabric to arrive—another fabric order slowly making its way from the United States.
Waiting for fabric deliveries may possibly be one of the hardest parts of quilting projects.
So far, though, I am really happy with how the quilt top turned out.
The arrangement of the colors worked even better than I originally imagined, and the Art Gallery Pure Elements solids give the quilt such a vibrant and modern look.
I always find color placement to be one of the most stressful but also most rewarding parts of quilting.
Sometimes moving a single fabric square can completely change the balance of the whole quilt.
For now the project is temporarily paused until the backing fabric arrives, but hopefully soon I’ll be able to quilt and finish it completely.
I’ll definitely keep you updated.
