Wednesday WIP: Something is wrong

Something very strange has happened during the past couple of weeks.

Suddenly I have this completely unstoppable urge to sew—and I specifically mean machine sewing.

Usually I go through long phases where I only want to hand sew or work slowly on paper piecing projects, but lately all I want is fast piecing, fabric combinations, and the sound of the sewing machine running nonstop.

Honestly, something is probably wrong with me.

But while this rare burst of motivation lasts, I’m definitely going to enjoy every second of it.

New Project

Butterfly Quilt

This new quilt project actually started because of a charm pack.

I bought this absolutely beautiful 5-inch Urban Chicks charm pack by Moda Fabrics, and it was immediate love at first sight.

The colors are cheerful, vintage-inspired, and perfectly balanced between playful and modern.

To complement it, I’m also using a Bella Solids charm pack, which matches the Urban Chicks fabrics perfectly and gives the quilt a cleaner, brighter contrast.

At the moment I’m still trying to decide on the sashing fabric and layout.

I have several ideas in mind, but I’m not completely convinced yet.

Hopefully inspiration will strike before I start assembling the quilt top.
