My Robby and The Swoon

This Wednesday’s WIP is dedicated to our beautiful golden retriever, Robby. He is now six years old and has been part of our family since he was two.

Every afternoon my husband and I collapse onto our DIY sofa, watch TV series and eat enormous amounts of sunflower seeds. We are completely addicted to them.

And apparently… so is Robby.

The moment we sit down on the sofa he immediately comes running because he knows it is “sunflower seed time.” He becomes completely obsessed with getting his share and honestly it is impossible not to laugh at him.

The New WIP — Swoon Quilt

Back to quilting now. I have been dreaming about making a Swoon Quilt for quite a long time. Choosing the fat quarters for this quilt was definitely a challenge, although a very enjoyable one.

My main goal from the beginning was simple: absolutely no white background.

Materials

For the stars I chose the stunning “Soul Blossoms” fabric line by Amy Butler. For the background I used “Sketched” by Timeless Treasures, which gives the quilt a softer and more textured feel compared to plain solids.

I still have a small doubt about this first block, especially regarding color value. I am not entirely sure whether I picked the right fabric combinations, but at the same time I cannot stop looking at it.

Fortunately all the blocks are already cut and ready to sew, so I believe this quilt top may actually come together pretty quickly.

Current Projects

This Week’s Stats

  • Completed Projects: 0
  • New Projects: 1
  • Projects in Progress: 5

And finally… this was the view that greeted me this morning when I woke up.

Robby was staring outside looking deeply suspicious about something happening in the yard. He looked absolutely hilarious. Please ignore the dirty windows.

Have a beautiful and creative week — and please leave a comment, they always make my day!
