Wip Wednesday: My Checkers UFO
Recently I have been trying really hard to finish all of my UFOs, and slowly things are finally moving forward. It had started to frustrate me seeing piles of cut fabrics waiting to be pieced and quilt tops hidden away in the closet.
Maybe I should simply get used to it… but for now I really enjoy seeing projects finally coming together.
This is my Checkers quilt top, made as a baby quilt.
Originally I had planned to make a large twin-size quilt, but while assembling the blocks I realized the layout would work beautifully as two separate baby quilts instead. So this is the first one.
Materials
I used two charm packs that I absolutely adore:
- Fairy Tale Friends by American Jane for Moda Fabrics
- Coming Home by Deb Strain for Moda Fabrics
My biggest dilemma right now is the binding.
My first option is using a simple white Kona binding to place more emphasis on the blocks themselves. The second option is using this lovely American Jane print, which I luckily have plenty of.
What do you think?
Current Projects

- Pinwheel quilt: I have finished the quilting, and it is about to be binded. I will show this one next week.
