A finished goal
I actually finished this baby quilt a couple of weeks ago, but I never managed to take proper photos of it until now.
I am completely in love with the binding on this quilt. It totally changed the whole feeling of the project and gave it such a cheerful and playful finish. Don’t you agree?
Materials
For this little quilt I used two printed charm packs:
- Cape Ann by Moda Fabrics
- Hoo’s in the Forest by Riley Blake
I also used two solid Kona charm packs. The background fabric is Sage Kona Cotton, while the backing fabric is also from Riley Blake.
The binding fabric is actually something I bought while visiting Amsterdam, and honestly I had been too afraid to cut into it for a long time. Such foolishness, because it turned out absolutely perfect for this quilt.
Process
I quilted the entire quilt with straight-line quilting around the pinwheel shapes.
And for the very first time, I tried machine binding instead of hand binding. I always hand-bind my quilts, so this felt like a huge change for me. But honestly? It was heaven on earth. So much faster and surprisingly neat and clean.
I also managed to make a little progress on my Butterfly Quilt. Not a huge amount, but enough to make me happy. I still absolutely adore these colors.
And apparently my golden retriever loves this quilt too.
Now on This Week’s Statistics
