A summer of embroidery Pt2

During my summer vacations, as I mentioned in a previous post , I started several cross stitch projects that are finally finished.

In almost three months of holidays, I managed to complete three embroidery projects, including this one — which felt absolutely huge for me at the time.

I really wanted to try stitching a sampler, and after some searching I discovered this beautiful Anna Fields book, filled with gorgeous traditional cross stitch patterns. I instantly fell in love with it.

I chose this sampler almost randomly, but near the end of the stitching process I realized how meaningful the words had become for that particular period of my life, especially while we were preparing to move to a different city.

This piece is going to my niece Anna’s nursery, which somehow makes it feel even more special.

I also completely fell in love with stitching on 28 count Jubilee fabric. After this experience, Aida cloth suddenly feels very rough and cheap to me!

Linking to Amanda over at Crazy Mom Quilts for another wonderful Finish-It-Up-Friday !
