Farmer’s Wife QAL week 11: Butterfly at the Crossroads & Kitchen Woodbox quilt blocks

Making these Farmer’s Wife quilt blocks has been so much fun over the past few weeks. I think I’ve finally gotten comfortable with foundation paper piecing, and that makes the whole process much more enjoyable and relaxing.

The only problem? I am dangerously running out of my favorite fabrics… so I’ll soon need to hunt down a similar collection to keep the quilt consistent!

For this week’s Farmer’s Wife Quilt Along , I worked on no. 14 Butterfly at the Crossroads and no. 54 Kitchen Woodbox, using my beloved Lecien fabrics.

Farmer’s Wife Quilt Blocks: Butterfly at the Crossroads & Kitchen Woodbox

The Butterfly at the Crossroads quilt block is such a delicate and interesting design. It has a light, almost airy feel, and it really benefits from careful fabric placement.

The Kitchen Woodbox quilt block, on the other hand, has a more structured and traditional look. It’s a great example of how simple geometric shapes can come together into a strong and balanced quilt block.

Week by week, it’s exciting to see how these blocks build up into something much bigger.

Here is how the blocks turned out:
