Scot’s Plaid Baby Quilt – WIP

I actually finished this baby quilt before the end of 2016, but somehow I never managed to write the WIP post for it. Since I ended up taking so many photos during the process, I decided it was still worth sharing anyway — even after the quilt itself was already finished.

Working with Cotton + Steel fabrics has honestly been an amazing experience. I think I finally understand why so many quilters become completely obsessed with them. After making this quilt, I seriously considered stopping random fabric purchases altogether and focusing mainly on building a Cotton + Steel collection instead. Their fabrics are simply a quilter’s dream.

And the funny thing is… for this quilt I only used fabrics from their basic lines.

This is a quilt design I had been wanting to make for a very long time, and while working on it I also started preparing a pattern for it. I would honestly love to hear your feedback about the design and layout.

The quilt itself is already finished, so I won’t reveal too many details just yet because the finished quilt post is already prepared for next Friday!

The main block used for this quilt is called Scot’s Plaid, and you can find a full tutorial for the block on my YouTube channel:

This Week’s Statistics

Swoon quilt : all blocks are finished but still not pieced together.

By the Sea quilt : top and backing completed — now waiting for basting, quilting and binding.

Farmer’s Wife Quilt : absolutely no progress whatsoever.

Farmer’s Wife 1930’s Quilt : truth be told, I actually finished two blocks back in summer (what?!), but somehow I can never get myself to photograph and blog about them. Other than that… zero progress.

Rotating quilt (formerly Orange Peels quilt): a few more appliqué blocks left before piecing the top.

Vintage embroidery quilt: I really need to write about this project soon so I can finally commit to making it. It has been sitting on my to-do list for way too long.

Square quilts: I have already pieced three quilt tops and hopefully I’ll find the time to blog about them soon.
