Lifesaver quilt, My first quilt pattern

I can’t even describe how excited I am to finally have my very first quilt pattern launched in my Shop.

This was something I really needed to dedicate myself to, and I finally managed to organize everything enough to make it happen. And yes — I definitely plan to continue!

Lifesaver Quilt Pattern

The Lifesaver Quilt is based on the classic Bowtie quilt block and uses a two-block design to create the full quilt.

I wanted to incorporate a kind of “signature” element into my quilt designs, and the 16-Patch block seemed like a good idea at the time. It still does!

Quilt Sizes

The pattern includes two different quilt sizes: Throw size at 64 x 64 inches and Queen size at 88 x 96 inches.

Precut Friendly

The Lifesaver quilt was originally designed with yardage in mind, especially solid fabrics, but it soon evolved into a fat-quarter-friendly pattern.

The pattern includes four different quilt styles, with full instructions for each one. One of the styles is especially fat-quarter friendly!

4 Quilt Styles Available!

The Lifesaver quilt pattern comes with four different quilt styles. Detailed cutting instructions are included for every single version.

Style 1

The first design that started it all: one unified background fabric for the whole quilt and different colors for the Lifesaver blocks.

Style 2

This design is my personal favorite. I used one fabric color for the Lifesaver blocks and different background fabrics for each row.

Style 3

Of course, I couldn’t avoid including a more minimal quilt design, with one unified background fabric and one color for the Lifesaver blocks.

Style 4

This is the fat-quarter-friendly version. It uses one unified background fabric and fat quarters for the Lifesaver blocks.

Pattern Testers

Without the invaluable help of my pattern testers, I would have been completely lost in a sea of pattern notes, edits and corrections. They voluntarily offered their help and feedback, and they improved the pattern incredibly.

A very warm thank you to Joanne Harris @turtlequilterjo for making the final tech check of the pattern.

I would like to thank all of my testers from the bottom of my heart!
