Flowerpath quilt, the commissioned one
The idea for the Flowerpath quilt first came to life while planning new tutorials for my YouTube channel, The Quilt Codex. The moment I tried this star-inspired design, I completely fell in love with it — and I hope you will too.
Meet the Flowerpath Quilt
The pattern is straightforward and enjoyable to sew, with no complicated surprises along the way. It is constructed using two simple units that come together to create the final quilt block.
You can find the pattern in the Shop.
Quilt Sizes Included
The pattern includes instructions for five different quilt sizes:
- Baby Quilt — 48” x 48”
- Lap Quilt — 64” x 64”
- Twin Quilt — 64” x 80”
- Queen Quilt — 80” x 96”
- King Quilt — 96” x 112”
Precut Friendly
The Flowerpath quilt pattern works beautifully with both Fat Quarters and Half Yards, and all fabric requirements are clearly included inside the pattern.
This Particular Quilt
This version of the Flowerpath quilt was commissioned by a lovely customer, who wanted to gift it to her niece as a graduation present.
Choosing the fabrics for this quilt was surprisingly easy. I paired the beautiful August fabric collection by Sarah Watts for Cotton & Steel with coordinating Kona Cotton solids.
Machine Quilting
For the quilting, I used a 2-inch grid and then crosshatched each square into a 1-inch grid. The final texture turned out absolutely fantastic.
