Farmer’s Wife QAL week 9: Duck and Ducklings & Maple Leaf quilt blocks

I wasn’t able to post my Farmer’s Wife blocks on Monday this week, but it is never too late to complete a goal and keep moving forward with a quilt-along.

For this week’s Farmer’s Wife Quilt Along, I made two lovely blocks: no. 28 Duck and Ducklings and no. 56 Maple Leaf. I used foundation paper piecing and, once again, my favorite Lecien fabrics.

Farmer’s Wife Quilt Blocks: Duck and Ducklings & Maple Leaf

The Duck and Ducklings quilt block has such a sweet traditional feeling. It is a charming block with movement and character, and it works beautifully with soft fabric combinations.

The Maple Leaf quilt block is one of those classic designs that always feels timeless. I love how the shape of the leaf appears through careful fabric placement, and foundation paper piecing makes the points and angles much easier to control.

Even when the week gets busy, finishing these blocks feels like a small creative victory.

Here is how the blocks turned out this week:
